Yes, it uses ultrasound, the same technology as conventional ultrasounds, making it a safe procedure for both the mother and the baby. It can be done as many times as desired.

It can be performed at any time during pregnancy, with the ideal period being between weeks 24 and 32. It can be done earlier, but the features are not yet defined and the images do not look as good. It can also be done later, but the visualisation is more complicated as the space that the baby occupies is larger and the ability to move is less.
